Complication

Following are the complications due to high pressure and volume ventilation and some might be

due to immobility and hospital acquired infections (Harman, 2017; Urden et al., 2012).

• Barotrauma • Venous thromboembolism

• Pneumomediastinum • Ventilator Associated Pneumonia

• Pneumothorax • Pressure ulcer

• Biotrauma • Encephalopathy

• Cardiac dysrhythmias • Oxygen toxicity
