and generate an additional income for their families.

Senior Citizens
To promote the care and protection of the elderly is a
daily task and for this reason the centers such as Villas de
Amor (Villas of Love), Casa Club del Adulto Activo (Club
House of Active Adults), Day Center “Reina de la Paz” and
Nursing Home “Vida y Esperanza” work proactively for
this demographic segment.
The following are improvements made to the infrastructure
of the different centers aside from the program called
“Silver Alert”:
• Renovation of the care unit of the Nursing Home “Vida y
Esperanza” with 80 beds and new furniture equipment
for the dining area, to the benefit of more than 80
senior citizens
• At “Villas de Amor” it was increased the number of
residencies which currently they have 8 and a project
of adding 4 more.
Active Adult Clubhouse

purpose to prevent senior citizens from going missing,
to locate them and reunited them with their families.
This project seeks to provide security, protection and
special care of the elderly.
Persons who have a senior citizen under their care and
wish to obtain the benefit of this program, you are able
to register them at the corresponding program database;
afterwards a personal bracelet will be given to him/her,
each one of these bracelets have a single identification
code, linked to the database registry and it has the 911
number
The persons registered in the program shall carry these
bracelets with them at all times.
Protection Agency for Children and Teenagers
Within the programs undertaken by the Protection Agency
for children and teenagers, are included the following:
• It initiated the incentive program called “Our Children,
Our Future” for orphan children.
• The workshop for “Identifying Sexual Abuse in Children”
was given, which attended directors and officials of
the DIF System of Nuevo Laredo, Miguel Aleman, Diaz
Ordaz, Camargo, Mier and Guerrero, as well as officials
from the Attorney General’s Office of Tamaulipas,
from the Health Department, and from the Ministry of
Education, in addition to municipal public officials and
Public Safety officials.
