“Los Dos Laredos”
Centro Histórico de Laredo y Nuevo Laredo (Downtown)
You can not miss a walk through the first blocks of both
Laredos, knowing its history through the oldest places,
enjoying its sunsets and cultural events in different places of
family recreation as well as a wide variety of establishments
in an atmosphere of bazaar, where you can buy different
products.
Plaza Juárez (Square)
Founding square with the monument to Santiago M. Belden.
This was the first square to be built as such in our city, since
the establishment of the old villa of Nuevo Laredo, it was
marked were the main square was going to be located. Since
the late nineteenth century it is known as Plaza Juarez. Centro Histórico de Nuevo Laredo
Plaza Miguel Hidalgo (Square)
Built in 1895, originally named Plaza de la Guardia Nacional.
On July 30 of that same year to commemorate the death
anniversary of the Founding Father, the name was changes
to “Plaza Hidalgo”.
Plaza de la Cultura (Square)
This square is integrated into the architectural complex of
the City Hall. It has a quarry stone fountain called “Source
del Poeta”, as a central element.
Plaza Ignacio Zaragoza (Square)
This beautiful and modern square is located in front of
the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit on Paseo Colon Avenue, in Plaza de la Cultura
subdivision Longoria.
El Reloj Público (City clock)
Located in the Plaza Hidalgo, this clock was built in 1926
and inaugurated in September of that same year. A tower
covered in white quarry stone of approximately 15 meters
high that includes a bell tower on a squared base with four
staircases.
Presidencia Municipal (City Hall)
Headquarters of the City Hall built in the early 80s with a
neoSubdivisionl style, which was remodeled in 2004.
