Statistics as a science has important applications in

agriculture. It is used to make order and make sense of the

huge amounts of data that can be gathered. Statistical

information is very important, contributing to the decision-

making process of all participants in agricultural markets.

Statistics is a branch of mathematics dealing with the

collection, presentation, analysis and interpretation of

numerical data.
