                                 lthough taking the proper precautions can lower risk for injury or
                                 illness caused by environmental factors, it is not possible to eliminate
                     A all environmental hazards, especially when work or play brings us

                     outdoors. Weather conditions and chance interactions with the other living
                     things that share our planet have the potential to create a first aid emergency.
                     Knowing the signs and symptoms—especially the early ones—of environmentally
                     caused illnesses and injuries will allow you to make quick decisions for yourself
                     or others and could mean the difference between life and death.
