Teacher preparation programs have a unique and
important role in preparing teachers, providing them
the work-based skills needed to create more just and
equal learning experiences for the many children and
families with whom they will interact. This resource-
filled workshop will identify ways to address bias and
racism in the courses Principles and Practices, Child
Growth & Development, Health & Safety, Observation &
Assessment, and Curriculum, where addressing such
topics may be overlooked. The workshop will include
specific equity topics in each of the courses, along
with resources for future use.
