Distinguished guests, exhibitors and buyers,
On behalf of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of
Commerce, it isour great pleasure to welcome you to the 65th edition of Bangkok
Gems and Jewelry Fair (BGJF).
While the outlook for 2020 remains foggy, the gems and jewelry industry in Thailand 2019
ended on a positive note. Export of Thai gems and jewelry including unwrought gold
valued approximately 15,700 million USD, a increase of almost 31 percent. And even
without gold, the industry still outperformed 2018 with a total export worth 8,097 million
USD or 6.34 percent growth. The growing figures run concurrently with the growing
popularity of the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair as the 64th Edition saw a record visitor
turnout, especially 13 percent increase in international buyers.
Ranked among the world’s most renowned and longest-celebrated gems and jewelry
trade fairs in the industry, the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair continues to serve as a
significant trading arena where gems and jewelry traders and enthusiasts from around
the world have visited to achieve their purposes, especially sourcing, trading and networking.
Regarding the new trends, all jewelry enthusiasts will not be disappointed to discover
the upcoming and unique trends showcased by local and international brands with
approximately 2,000 exhibition booths.
Though the 65th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair celebrates incomparable Thai
craftsmanship with the key theme “Thailand’s Magic Hands: The Spirit of Jewelry Making”
similar to the previous editions, This February BGJF will unveil the new showcase called
“Siam Silver Showcase” presenting one of a kind stories of Thai silver from past to present
which includes 5 silver jewelry trends, namely, Generation Silver, Modern Heritage, Fashion
Charm, Urban Tribe and Lifestyle Silverware. Even more, there will also be another highlight
