TOLUNA TEAM SHOWCASE
THINK PINK
FOR
#PINKTOBER
You may have noticed that the Toluna logo on the website incorporates a
pink ribbon. This is to remind you about breast cancer awareness month,
which takes place throughout October.
At the start of the month, we polled 461 Kiwi members about
taking part in breast cancer awareness initiatives this year.
56% said they would contribute to charities, buy a pink
ribbon or support businesses that are participating. Another
30% were not sure yet. Whether you are donating money or
not, we believe it's more important just to spread awareness
- because early detection saves lives.
Breast cancer is the most common form of
cancer affecting women. 1 in 8 women are at
risk of being diagnosed by age 85.
Although it is primarily a women's disease, 1 in
651 men are also at risk of being diagnosed.
However, the overall five year survival rate for
breast cancer in females is 90%. Early
detection has contributed a lot to this survival
rate, which is why we are trying to spread as
much awareness as possible this month!
