Welcome Team
From opening the front door on Sunday mornings, serving at the welcome kiosk, greeting and ushering, handing out
bulletins or simply being available to answer questions, there are many ways to serve on the Welcome Team!
Contact Ginger McKee at ginger@savoyumc.org.
Media Booth - Sound, Lights, Powerpoint—Work in the media booth on Sunday mornings and for special
events. Contact Steve sws601@comcast.net.
Fellowship Team—Be a part of the crew that provides and serves the coffee and snacks between worship services
on Sunday morning! Contact Rose Redmon at rjredmon@comcast.net

services. If you would like to help, please contact Gail Taylor at gail@savoyumc.org.

Choir—After a break during the month of August, choir rehearsals will resume on Wednesday, September 11. We
meet at 7 pm in the Choir Room and invite anyone enjoying singing to join us then. Our anthems are not difficult to
learn. We enjoy singing, laughing, sharing and a great fellowship. Come join us!
Praise Band—Do you love to sing? Our praise band performs a variety of contemporary songs at 10:30 am worship
on Sunday mornings with rehearsals Wednesday evenings. If you are interested in joining this wonderful group of
people, contact Amy Markstahler at gr8flsh33p@hotmail.com.
United Methodist Women —The Christmas luncheon of United Methodist Women will be Wednesday,
December 11 at 11:30 am. It was decided at our November meeting to bring in food from Biaggi’s. We estimate the
cost per person to be $10. Please let Dee Smith know if you plan to be at the luncheon. Tableware, drinks and dessert
will be provided. Anyone is welcome to join us but please let Dee know your plans. We are invited to the annual
Countryside Christmas Brunch on Wednesday, December 4. If you would like to carpool please be in the church
parking lot by 9:15. This is open to all ladies of the church, not just UMW. Thanks to the generosity of members
with their pledges and offerings we are able to give sizeable year-end funds to missions we support – Cunningham
Children’s Home and Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House. Please note the tree for Cunningham Kids in the
narthex. Savoy UMC has always been so generous in their response of gifts for the Kids and we are so
appreciative. It’s one way of letting them know that they are loved and cared about by us and by their
God. Remember, choose a tag, purchase the gift and return it to the church unwrapped. Wrapping paper, ribbons,
bows and tape are also good gift items. Anyone wishing to participate in the wrapping session should call
Cunningham to find out the dates that this will take place. UMW will not meet in January.
