3. Verb ending in consonant + y ค ากริยาที่ลงท้ายด้วย y มี 2 กรณีคือ

3.2 ถ้าหน้า y เป็นพยัญชนะ ให้ตัด y ออก แล้ว

เติม ies แทน เช่น cry-cries, study-studies,

try-tries, fly-flies

3.1 ถ้าหน้า y เป็นสระ เติม s เช่น

play-plays, buy-buys, enjoy-enjoys
