"I UNDERSTAND THE UNCERTAINTY THAT EXISTS IN
OUR COMMUNITIES, PARTICULARLY FOR THOSE
PAYING RENT TO PUT A ROOF OVER THEIR HEADS."
I hope to earn your vote to become your next County
Councillor for Bourne South and Thurlby.
I am 27 years old and have lived almost all of those years in
Bourne and the surrounding villages. My family have lived in
Lincolnshire for over a millennium, mostly as agricultural
labourers. I have worked on farms myself, while I was at
university, and more recently during the pandemic.
I also work for a translation company as a Project Manager, Bob Mumby
and before the pandemic was an Early Years Teacher teaching
English in China. I believe the variety of the places I have Labour
worked, and the roles I have filled, complements my local & Co Operative Party
perspective. I understand the uncertainty that exists in our Candidate For
communities, particularly for those paying rent to put a roof Bourne South and Thurlby
over their heads.
MY PROMISES TO YOU
COUNCIL EXPENDITURE
Scrutinise and challenge all council expenditure to ensure that monies spent, or
intended to be spent, are used to the benefit of all sectors of the community.
HOUSING
Be a voice for private renters, working with existing renters associations to
secure better conditions in privately rented accommodation.
COMMUNITY
Support the local mutual aid organisations that emerged during the pandemic
and ensuring that they can continue their good work amidst ongoing austerity.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Improve local transport for all people to be able to live a more greener sociable
and working lifestyle, linking towns and villages with Peterborough.
CRIME
Raise awareness of everyday harassment and abuse of key workers, working
with the police and crime commissioner and with trade unions to develop
community safety and policing plans.
PLANNING
Ensure transparency of council scrutiny in planning decisions, ensuring that new
construction projects and disposal of public land is being done in the
community’s best interests.
