The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art is a contemporary art museum in Ukrainian Village. Sometimes

it is called UIMA. UIMA has a logo which is used on all their posters, letters and on the website. The logo

is red and it is easy to recognize. This is called branding. UIMA has a wavy façade which was designed by

Stanley Tigerman , a famous Chicago architect. When you step into UIMA you will see two galleries. The

east gallery exhibits art from our permanent collection which is housed in the archives. The west gallery
houses exhibitions from various current artists. Some art is three dimensional with parts that hang from
the ceiling or stick out from the wall or floor. Sometimes you can walk in, under, or on top of the artwork.

This type of art is called installation art .
