Cleaning and mixing
● The ingredients are passed through a series of
screens to remove any under- or over-sized
materials.
● If the body is to be formed wet, the
ingredients are then combined with water to
produce the desired consistency
● If the body is to be formed dry, shell mixers,
ribbon mixers, or intensive mixers are typically
used.
