What is doping
• Derived from Deutch “dop” – alcoholic beverage used by Zulu
Warriors to enhance their bravery in battle. The term was
adapted into English, referring to illegal drugging of
racehorses.
• The use of artificial means to improve performance that
contravenes ethics of sport
• Laboratory analysis of a bodily samples are required (eg:
blood/urine).
