This Center stages performing arts productions of Northwestern
University’s School of Communication, Department of Theatre
and Department of Performance Studies, including theatre,
music theatre and dance. Forty productions are mounted every
year which take place in four different performance venues.
Each production explores what theatre can do and the different
ways in which stories move us.

Writers Theatre was founded in 1992 to explore productions
in which the word on the page and the artists that bring the
word to life hold primary importance. Now performing in a
Writers Theatre, Glencoe stunning new theatre center designed by Jeanne Gang and
Studio Gang Architects, the Theatre’s deliberately intimate
Skokie Valley performances bring audiences face-to-face with powerful

This symphony orchestra presents accessible classical concerts
that inspire both aficionados and newcomers to classical music.
World-class musicians that have performed with the SVSO as
guest soloists include: Itzak Perlman, Leonard Pennario, Eugene
Istomin, Emanuel Ax, Pinchas Zuckerman, Rachel Barton,
and Daniel Barenboim. Their annual Young Artist Competition
selects the finest student musicians from across the country

Since opening its doors in 2008, SPACE has brought thousands
of world class performances to Evanston audiences. With a
rustic and warm ambiance and state-of-the-art technology the
venue has become a favorite amongst musicians and music
fans of all ages. SPACE doesn’t fit standard labels such as
“jazz club” or “rock club.” It is a place where music fanatics
can get closer to their favorite music and have a uniquely
