Second G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting. This meeting held under
the Italian Presidency to discuss policy responses to global challenges to restore strong, sustainable,
balanced and inclusive growth.
f Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman participated in the 103rd
Meeting of the Development Committee Plenary, via video conferencing. During the meeting, she shared
the measures taken to combat COVID-19 including social support measures for the poor and vulnerable,
and relief measures for firms in statutory and regulatory compliance matters.
f Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mr Mark Rutte, held a Virtual
Summit. During the India- Netherlands virtual Summit, the two leaders reviewed the existing bilateral
engagements and also exchanged views on further expanding and diversifying the relationship in trade
and economy, water management, agriculture sector, smart cities, science & technology, healthcare and
space.
f Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the 2021 “Raisina Dialogue”, through video-conferencing.
The Raisina Dialogue 2021 is the sixth edition of the annual dialogue, organised from April 13 to 16,
2021, in full digital form for the first time due to the coronavirus pandemic. The theme for the 2021
conference is “#ViralWorld: Outbreaks, Outliers and Out of Control”.
f Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated the First bi-annual Indian Air Force, IAF Commanders'
Conference 2021 at Air Headquarters Vayu Bhawan in New Delhi. The conference is attended by the Air
Officers Commanding-in-Chief of all Commands of IAF, all Principal Staff Officers and all Director
Generals posted at Air Headquarters.
f Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated in the “Leaders' Summit on Climate”, hosted by the
President of the U.S.A. Joe Biden. The two-day conference has been organised virtually on 22-23 April
2021, which coincides with the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Paris Agreement on climate change
for signature. The theme of the summit: Our Collective Sprint to 2030.
f The opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2021 was held in Boao, south
China's Hainan Province. The theme of the conference – “A World in Change: Join Hands to Strengthen
Global Governance and Advance Belt and Road Cooperation”.
f The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and his British counterpart Boris Johnson held a virtual
Summit meeting. During the Summit meeting, both the leaders unveiled an ambitious 10- year road map
to elevate the India-UK bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. The UK prime
minister Boris Johnson announced a new India-UK trade investment worth £1 billion.
f The first-ever India-France-Australia Trilateral Foreign Ministerial Dialogue was held in London, UK, on
the sidelines of the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting. The meeting was attended by External Affairs Minister,
Dr S. Jaishankar from India, France's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Mr Jean-Yves Le Drian and
Australia's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator Marise Payne.
f Union Minister of State for Tourism & Culture (I/c), Prahlad Singh Patel participated in G20 Tourism
Ministers' Meeting held in Italy on 4th May 2021. This dialogue aimed to collaborate in protecting tourism
businesses, jobs and taking initiatives to frame policy guidelines to support the sustainable and resilient
recovery of travel and tourism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the IndiaEU Leaders'
Meeting, held in a hybrid format. The India-European Union Leaders' Meeting is hosted by Portugal.
Portugal currently holds the chair of the grouping. PM Modi attended the event at the invitation of the
President of the European Council Mr Charles Michel.
f The first BRICS Employment Working Group (EWG) Meeting was held in 2021 in virtual format. The
