f The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has capped the amount of trans fatty acids
(TFA) in oils and fats to 3% for 2021 and 2% by 2022 from the current permissible limit of 5% through an
amendment to the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restriction on Sales) Regulations.
f It was in 2011 that India first passed a regulation that set a TFA limit of 10% in oils and fats, which was
further reduced to 5% in 2015.

f Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha has launched Mobile Application ‗Satark Nagrik'

f In Leh, the first-ever Ice climbing festival was celebrated in Nubra valley. The Seven Day event was
organized by Nubra Adventure Club. Ice climbing is a popular winter sport abroad. To promote winter
tourism in Nubra valley, Nubra Adventure Club, with the help of Social activist Dr Nordan Otzer, has
organized the Seven Day Ice Climbing Festival.

f Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Kiren Rijiju has launched a breakthrough Reference Material for
use in chemical testing in the field of anti-doping. A reference material jointly synthesised by the
National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) and National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and
Research (NIPER), Guwahati.
f A dedicated Centre for Wetland Conservation and Management (CWCM) has been established at the
National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management(NCSCM), Chennai, an institution under the
Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. This was announced by Minister of State for
Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Babul Supriyo on the occasion of the World Wetland Day on
2nd February 2021.
f The Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' has addressed the inaugural ceremony of the
ASEAN India Hackathon 2021 on February 1. The Ministry of Education has launched the ASEAN India
Hackathon 2021. The ASEAN India Hackathon 2021 is being conducted virtually from February 1 to 3,
2021. The 10 ASEAN countries areMalaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Brunei, Thailand,
Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.
f The first of its kind 'amputee clinic' in India, has been launched by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical
Education and Research (PGIMER), a premier medical and research institution in Chandigarh. The basic
intent of this initiative is to bring an Amputee as a near-normal functional human being in society.
f A 25-year-old Kashmiri woman, Ayesha Aziz, has become the youngest female pilot in the country. She
became the youngest student pilot to get a license at the age of 15 in 2011. The 25 -year-old from
Kashmir who is the youngest female pilot in the country acts is a source of inspiration and a beacon of
