Bicyle Safety Town

Open daily dawn to dusk, except during bicycle safety education class (for closures, visit

This one of a kind learning track, complete with traffic and road signs, provides a great place for younger
riders to learn the rules of the road or a safe arena for older, more experienced riders to have fun. The facility
has a picnic shelter, a covered bleacher area, family restroom, as well as a paved path which links to the Rock
Island Greenway. All bicyclists (toddlers, children, and adults) MUST wear properly fitted helmets. Scooters,
skateboards, roller skates/roller blades, and motorized equipment are prohibited from the track.
Bicycle Safety Town is also available for private shelter rentals at $25/hour.
Marinas

Detweiller Marina: 673-6523
Located at #2 Caroline St, Detweiller Marina offers180 in-water slips. All slips have state of the art electrical/water hookup and a 30 amp
twist-lock receptacle. We also have 20 dry-dock areas and 20 beach spots for rent. There are three public launch ramps, accessible even in
high water. Launch fee $7 for any size boat. A 9-acre park is located just to the north of the Marina. Shelter has water, picnic tables and grills
for groups, reunions and parties. The fuel dock is open Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm and weekends 11 am-6 pm.
• Winter storage available November 1 through May 1 • $21/foot. Boating season opening May1st.
Galena Marina
Located across from Detweiller Park off Galena Road, this facility includes boat ramp, picnic areas with grills, restrooms, parking and open
riverfront. It is open dawn to 11:00 pm daily. Free launching.

• Advisory committee members are appointed by the Park Board President.
• Timothy J. Cassidy, Park Board President, and Bonnie W. Noble, Executive Director of Parks and Recreation, sit on all committees.
• Meetings are open to the public and held in the Noble Center, located at 1125 W. Lake Ave in Lakeview Park, unless otherwise
