tips for the Black Dog Syndrome -- clever
advantages for owning black dog and making
them part of your Halloween event (p28).

In this issue we have a many happy stories of
our adopted dogs. Read how Tovah’s adoption
of Lola led her to help us in special ways and
how long termer Marbles wormed his way into
Joy’s heart and how Ace likes to give slobbery
wet kisses to his new kid brothers Raph and
Elijah. We have also featured Elly’s adoption,
initially she was a homeless dog with lots of
medical problems and how she was adopted by
a family committed to coming all the way from
                                                  Melbourne with kids in tow!

On a sadder note, we are appealing to
anyone willing to offer a palliative home to
sweet Scarlett, a 9yo Boxer x, in the picture
with me. She has so much to offer and so much
love to give, be it for a short while. Please share
with your friends so she can have the best
remaining life she can. More details p7.

Corinne has managed to acquire some council
pound statistics that are kept under the radar of
the public domain. Almost 30% of NSW pound
dogs ie 5,272 dogs that were not reclaimed
were killed in the last financial year – that is
after all the work rescue groups do save them
(p12). That is a statistic we can only be
ashamed of. The following pages give more
details as well as NSW RSPCA statistics. They
