I often wonder - who's on the other side of the fence? Who is it? Grrrrrr
My greatest achievement is - trusting new people, especially dudes.
When I first met Ryan and Anna it took over an hour for me to work up
the nerve to get in the car, and even then it was because Monika got in
the car and offered me treats. I let Anna pet me, but I didn't want Ryan to
touch me for my first 3 days. The first time I met Anna and Ryan's friends
my hackles went up, I growled and I hid. But then I learned that some-
times new friends have bacon, and if I'm brave enough to come close
and get it they're actually really nice! Now I LOVE it when friends come
over and am more than happy to meet new people and have a pat.
My favourite place in the world is - the beach! The first time they took
me to play in the ocean I was SO HAPPY. And then I chased birds!! And
then my friends where there and we all played in the sand! Then I got hot
and swam again, but then I had to chase birds. So then I just sat in the
sun with Anna and watched Ryan surf.
To all those dogs waiting in pounds I say - don't be limited by what's
happened in your past! My description on the Pet Rescue website said
I didn't like to be touched on the neck, would suit being around older
children and didn't like being picked up by strangers. Tell me, who likes
to be picked up by strangers? Who you are in the shelter is just a sliver
of who you can grow into if you're in a happy family like I am. I love ANY
kind of pat or touch now, and I'm very happy to sit nicely and get a pat
from toddlers and young kids.
I hope the Easter Bunny brings me - BACON!
