MEMORIAM REM EM BERING A VERY SPEC IAL, ADVENTUROUS BOY
WRITTEN BY:
HIS MUM, LAURA
Jordy, the sailor dog, had quite an adventurous 18-year
journey from the pound at Homebush to the Siskiyou
Mountains of Oregon. He rode out gales - twice - when
we crossed the Tasman Sea to New Zealand and back
in our 12-meter sloop. He lived in seventeen countries,
and romped on many of the world's best beaches from
Bondi to Boracay. Things weren't always glorious and
fun, of course: Jordy had two almost-fatal bouts of tick
fever in Malaysia. When we ultimately sold our boat to
move to the United States, Jordy had to endure 38
hours in a travel crate, from the small island of Labuan
off Brunei, to Kota Kinabalu, Koala Lumpur, Tokyo and JORDY PASSED AWAY
finally Los Angeles. Luckily we were able to fix a 20TH MAY, 2020 AGED 18 YRS
paperwork snafu in Tokyo and the airline didn't send
Jordy back to Malaysia! ten puppies in Palau! In Oregon his housemates were
pregnant dogs and senior/hospice adoptees.
Those of you who remember Jordy as a pup would say
he wasn't terribly friendly with other dogs. Well, as he One Spring morning in 2020 Jordy went outside to sniff
aged Jordy lived and played happily with many other the mountain air, came back indoors and took his final
