Chameleons can change their color
using special cells in their skin. This
is often to send messages to other
chameleons and show what mood
they’re in—for example, if they are
angry. Other times, chameleons
change color because of the
temperature of their environment—
if their skin is darker, it can absorb
more heat and help them keep warm.
