Lost the Plot
Landfall in Corfu and within a day a Sardine festival in Petriti, involving BBQs
and Greek dancing gave a super start to our sailing around the Greek Isles
and into the Ionian. However storms and high winds were as ever present as
were the beautiful, hot sunny days so following the weather forecast
became increasingly important as we looked for safe harbours without too
many flotillas and madcap pleasure cruisers.
We decided to overwinter the boat in Aktio Marina and once all the “laying-
up” jobs had been completed we were ready for our trip to the airport on
23 October, back to the UK.

As our wonderful 2 months cruising in the Ionian came to the end we
reflected on our whole 6 month trip:
We had truly “Lived the dream” for the last 6 months. We had done so
much and seen so much. The type of life changing adventure that a lot of
people won’t ever get the opportunity to undertake. But with all good
things this adventure had come to an end and the time had come for us to
return home. We were all pleased to be going home, to see friends and
