11.3 Collage

Collage is an artwork made by pasting various different inaterials
such as photographs, fabric, newspaper, pieces of paper or fabric
onto a surface. Collage comes fron1 the French word 'Papier colle'

which n1eans pasted paper. Collage is an interesting n1ediun1
and many artists have used in their artworks. Artists like Pablo
Picasso, and George Braque have used collage to express their
feelings through collage .

Different types of collage

A collage can be made by shnply pasting or sticking photographs.
A collage inade by con1bining photographs in this way is called a
photo n1ontage. A collage inade by sticking iten1s like cloth, jute,
