honored to be a part of that special day!
The Sigma Rho sisters have also stepped
up their community service game
this year by volunteering at a variety
of events such as The Diva Show (a
fashion show for mentally handicapped
children), Color the Rock Run, Relay for
Life, and many more. We participated in
other Greek Life events, as well as held a our sisters are members of Order of
pancake dinner to raise money for sisters’ Omega, an organization that recognizes
friends and family that are in need.
Sigma Tau
Washington College
This spring we welcomed 14 new
members into our chapter. Our fun
Bid Day theme was, “if it’s not neon it
shouldn’t be on.” Another highlight of
the year was our annual Founders’ Day.
Tau Delta
Birmingham Southern College
Last fall, our 74th annual Mr. Hilltopper
event (a choreographed dance
competition and woman-less beauty
pageant) raised nearly $3,000. We came
in second place in Greek Week and
won first place in alumnae support and
donations. Our Chapter Adviser Vicki
VanValkenburgh won adviser of the year!
This spring, we came in third place for
Greek Sing and Greek Week, and we
won the housing award. We also won
Homecoming as a team with the
Sigma Nu fraternity! In recruitment,
we met chapter quota and had the
largest new member pledge class
on sorority row.
Tau Gamma
Eastern Washington U
We started it off by welcoming 33
new members to our sisterhood. Tau
Gamma has also been participating
in multiple philanthropy events
during the year such as a canned
food drive and a blood drive. During
the spring, we held a successful
Sisters for Soldiers event, and
participated in spring recruitment.
Tau Lambda
Shippensburg U
Tau Lambda has been working
to increase our presence on
campus, especially in the area of

philanthropy. In addition to our annual
Spike Out and Strike Out events, we
attended a Strike Out Arthritis! baseball
game with the Philadelphia Phillies. We
also hosted a Pi an AOII event, as well as 12. Yes, 12. Located in Sioux City, IA, we
organized teams for Relay for Life and
Zumbathon to support our Panhellenic
sisters at Shippensburg U. Many of
members of Greek Life with high GPAs.
Tau Omicron
U of Tennessee at Martin
It was a year of achievement for our
chapter and members. We were
honored that three of our members
competed in the 2015 Miss Tennessee
Pageant (Miss America Organization) and
one was crowned the winner. Courtney
Caton represented Miss Mid South,
Shelby Dotson was Miss University
of TN at Martin, and Hannah Robison
competed as Miss Scenic City and was
crowned Miss Tennessee. Additionally,
we were first in grades for Spring and
Fall 2014, and overall Greek Winners
for Homecoming Week with Hannah
Robison also winning Homecoming
Queen. We also tied for Overall 1st Place
as the winner of Greek Week.
Theta Chi
Morningside College
Many AOII chapters are bigger than us,
having at least 30 girls; our chapter has
have a small campus, with a small Greek
Life, but we have some big goals. This
year our chapter changed up Strike Out
Arthritis! and tried something new, Hop
Out Arthritis. It was an Easter Egg Hunt
for the community that raised $800!
Combined with “AOPie in the Face” in
the fall, which raised over $200, our
chapter managed to raise over $1,000 for
philanthropy! Though we are small, we
still manage to come together like any
other AOII chapter and host events that
are successful and enjoyable.
Theta Omega
Northern Arizona U
This year, the chapter emphasized
sisterhood through events such as an
AOII Tea Party and a Galentine’s Night.
Throughout the spring, the chapter
worked to raise awareness for juvenile
arthritis by hosting an AOII Goes Blue
Week and raised funds with Kiss Away
Arthritis. In between philanthropy events
and sisterhood activities, we welcomed
three new members and focused on our
wonderful graduating seniors.
