TH E product that bears a quality stamp cannot be
constructed upon a designer's chart, nor upon the
experimental desk of the factory superintendent. The
task is accomplished only by sound experience, untiring
effort and practical skill—a combination that is made
possible through the cooperation of our entire plant.

Before a new Balfour product can be marketed, it must
undergo scientific tests to definitely assure durability
and permanent attractiveness. Although built daintily,
with artistic hands, fragility has never been associated
with our manufacture.

The bracelet undergoes a thorough analysis to determine
the enduring qualities of its enamel and finish against
human chemical action. A badge is tested under power-
f u l magnifying glasses f o r tightness of the stone set-
ting, and security of pin clasp. Each ring is examined
f o r evenness o f mounting, and proper thickness to the
thousandth of an inch of precious metal.

The element of chance plays no part in the Balfour
guarantee.
