EVENT FEATURE CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL OF BIKES
I was a little surprised to find loads
of bikes parked up on the pavement
earlier, it wasn’t long before the hall started filling
up. Del arrived and a few friends turned up and had a
chat, although it was a shame that this year Yoda was
covering another event (no, I won’t mention he had
got his dates mixed up for said event and had turned
up a week early by mistake, meaning he had to go
back again!). At one point I went out to the front of the
building and was a little surprised to find loads of bikes

parked up on the pavement. It was the same at the back
of the Town Hall as well.
Both sides of the main hall had a cafe and rooms set
out for the traders. Among those vendors were one of
the show’s main sponsors, Oily Rag Co, selling clothing,
while there were other stalls offering lighting equipment
and one retailing ignition systems, as well as a young
lady selling her motorcycle artwork. In the interest
of retail therapy and supporting the traders, I bought
myself a brighter LED rear light and a pair of gloves.
The Blood Bikes folk also had a stand there and were
collecting funds for their fantastic organisation.
After I had been at the show for over six hours, I
decided that it was time to make move even though the
show was still in full swing. Here’s to the next event. p
