                    PROCEED ACCORDINGLY.
                    The International Food Information Council Foundation has
                    found that more than half of consumers consult the ingredi-
                    ents list or Nutrition Facts panel often or always before making
                    a food purchasing decision. Cross-referencing them gives you
                    a  good overall  picture  of a product’s nutritional value. For
                    example, you might check the amount of added sugar in the
                    Nutrition Facts panel but then consult the ingredients list to
                    see what other company the sugar has—if it’s nuts, seeds,
                    whole grains, and so on, as opposed to enriched flour, partially
                    hydrogenated oil, artificial colors, etc., then that sugar might
                    be worth it.
