Lucasfilm release a
tantalizing new video
he biggest talking point
T at this year’s D23 Expo
was undoubtedly the release
of a new video offering a
tantalizing glimpse at the next Star Wars
movie, The Last Jedi.
The 2.58 second behind-the-scenes
video (now viewable on the offi cial
Star Wars YouTube channel) showed
a breathtaking selection of sequences
from the film, including plenty of new
footage of Rey in training on Ahch-To, the
official debuts of several new characters,
new weapons for the stormtroopers and
quotes from members of the cast as well
as director Rian Johnson.
Keen-eyed viewers hitting the pause
button will have spotted Resistance
A-wings being blown up and our fi rst
look at the casino city of Canto Blight,
a central location in the film, as well as
several shots of the cute residents of Ahch-
To—the penguin-like porgs!
“Even though I think I know it all,
they throw things at me story-wise I never
could have imagined,” said Mark Hamill
of the film, something echoed by his co-
star Daisy Ridley. “Rian has written a story
that’s unexpected, but right,” she said.
“Some of the stuff that happens, people
are going to be like, ‘Oh my god!’” See the
