The Bregenzer Wald (Bregenz Forest) occupies the town of Angelika
northern part of Vorarlberg and extends along the Kauffmann, a
Bregenzer Ache valley. This region has maintained prominent artist of
much of its individual character. Its inhabitants the Neo-Classical

Angelika Kauffmann
Angelika Kauffmann, a Swiss painter
(1741–1807) of idealized portraits in
sentimental or Neo-Classical style, was
associated with German, English and
Italian artistic circles. She left many
works in Schwarzenberg, where she
had family links. The local church has
an altarpiece by her and also a small 9 Rappenlochschlucht
