     HIGHLIGHTS

2018 Despite winning just 10 games, deGrom
took home the National League Cy Young
Award. His ERA (1.70) led the majors, and his
WAR (10.0) was tops in the NL. The righty
was victimized by poor run support all year.
In 13 starts in which deGrom went at least
seven innings and allowed no more than
one earned run, he picked up just five wins.
2014 In his his major league debut for
the Mets against the Yankees, deGrom
pitched seven innings and allowed only
one run, but the Mets lost 1–0. He
finished the season with a 9–6 record
     and a 2.69 ERA.
2010 The Mets selected deGrom out of
Stetson University in the ninth round of
the draft. Originally a shortstop, he
moved to the mound for good midway
     through his junior season.
