Lefkáda

The smallest prefecture of Greece, Lefkáda compris es one main
island and several satellites, including Meganísi, Sparti, Madouri and
Skorpidi. The main island, Lefkáda, is connected to the mai nland by
two bridges that traverse a causeway. At the island’s north eastern
tip lies its capital, Lefkáda Town, rebuilt after an earthquake
in 1948 to the original architectural style. The picturesque
island has lush vegetation and a breathtaking,
mountain ous landscape with olive groves,
vineyards and forests of cypress, pine and
plane trees. The western coast is rugged,
with tiny coves and scenic beaches, such as
the beautiful Pórto Katsiki beach, while the
east coast has the popular resorts of Nydrí
and Perigialia. To the south is Vasilikí Bay,
