                               The Dutch adore flowers, particularly
                               tulips (below). They are everywhere.
                               You can buy bulbs at the Bloemenmarkt,
                               visit the vast flower auction at Aalsmeer
                               and the spring spectacle at Keukenhof,
                               and cycle through the bulb fields near
                               Leiden. While you won’t find the
                               mythical black tulip, you can get
                               something very close to it – a

     Since it first opened in 2001, FOAM
     (short for Fotografiemuseum) has
     established an excellent reputation,
     displaying the work of photographers
     from every corner of the world,
     though Dutch work is often given
     prominence. The premises are
     interesting too – this was once one    of architectural influences – lives on.
