Polite requests (4 minutes)
There is a form of volere used for polite requests:
(io) vorrei (I would like), as in Vorrei un caffè (I’d like
a coffee). Practice the following sample sentences and
then test yourself using the cover flap.
I’d like a beer. Vorrei una birra.

I’d like a table Vorrei un tavolo
for tonight. per stasera.

I’d like the Vorrei il menù,
menu, please. per favore.
