       1 Drottningholm

       With its palace, theatre, park and Chinese Pavilion, the whole
       of Drottningholm has been included in UNESCO’s World
       Heritage list. The royal palace on the island of Lovön
       emerged in its present form towards the end of the 17th
       century, and was one of the most lavish buildings of its era.
       Contemporary Italian and French architecture inspired
       Tessin the Elder (1615–81) in his design, which was also
       intended to glorify royal power. The project was completed
       by Tessin the Younger, while 18th-century architects like Carl
       Hårleman and Jean Eric Rehn put the finishing touches to   Baroque Garden
