. Great Ape House
Western Lowland Gorillas –
whose males can weigh over
400 pounds (180 kg) – can be
seen in the Great Ape House.
Other occupants include
tree-dwelling orangutans.
. Komodo Dragons
These rare lizards can grow
up to 10 ft (3 m) in length, and
weigh up to 200 lbs (90 kg).
They are the first to be born in
captivity outside Indonesia.
Sumatran Tigers
Native to the Indonesian
island of Sumatra, these are
the smallest of all surviving
tiger subspecies and are
excellent swimmers.
Amazonia
This exhibit re-creates
the Amazonian habitat.
Visitors can see many
creatures from poison-
dart frogs to giant catfish.
