       Havana at a Glance

Havana is a lively, colourful capital city, full of bustle and
entertainment, with some splendid architectural gems from
the colonial period and beyond, and numerous other sights. HAVANA
The city alone is worth the trip to Cuba. Many attractions are
concentrated in three quarters: La Habana Vieja (Old Havana),
Centro Habana and Vedado. In the following pages La Habana
Vieja, the colonial centre within the old city walls, is described
first, followed by Centro Habana and the area known as Prado.
The western part of the city is covered in the chapter called
Vedado and Plaza. For map references for major sights in
Havana, refer to the Street Finder (see pp122–7).
