Exploring Zeeland

Touring around Zeeland, you cannot ignore the sea. The journey becomes
a small adventure as you encounter bridges, dams and ferry docks.
Sometimes you will travel along a straight ribbon of a road, sometimes a Renesse
windy lane. The ever-present and often turbulent water is never the same BROUWERSHAVEN
colour for long: it can quickly change from a grey-green reflecting the Schouwen
vivid blue sky to the white of wave crests beneath leaden skies.
Passing over one of the many dams, you will reach the next HAAMSTEDE Serooskerke Dreischor
Wester-
island, with its own special character. Tholen, for example, is schouwen Duiveland
quiet – almost morose – whereas Walcheren is full of BRUINISSE
surprises and has a wonderful atmosphere. Travelling ZIERIKZEE

Getting Around

The best way to visit all the ST ANNALAND
islands of Zeeland is by car. The Noord-
roads here are excellent – the A58 DOMBURG Beveland T holen

to the centre of the province, VEERE ST MAARTENSDIJK
