YORK CHOCOLATE

Place of origin US The founding female of the York Chocolate breed came from
pointed ears
Date of origin 1980s New York State and was a dark chocolate brown, hence the
Breed registries Other breed’s name. When kittens born to this cat had the same rich
Weight range 6–11lb (2.5–5kg) coloring, their owner developed an enthusiasm for continuing the

line. Although still comparatively rare, the York Chocolate
has attracted much attention at cat shows in North America.
Colors and patterns The breed includes bicolors with patches of chocolate
Solid color: chocolate, or lavender. It is a gentle lap cat with an affectionate
lavender; bicolor:
chocolate and white, temperament and loves to be petted. In the home
lavender and white. this soft-voiced breed will quietly make its presence
felt by following its owner everywhere and joining
in with anything that is going on.
