• The world’s biggest dolphin is the orca (killer whale).
• They use clicks, squeaks and whistles to communicate with one another.
• They find their way around using something called echolocation. they
send out sounds and then listen for the echo – that tells them where
objects, including their prey, are.
• Dolphins can have up to 250 teeth, but they don’t use them to chew their
food, only to catch it – they swallow their fish whole!
• They never sleep deeply. Part of their brain stays awake so that they can breathe and be
