Visions of Vader
Uncover legends of the Sith Lord in
Star Wars: Vader–Dark Visions
Who is Darth Vader? The former Anakin
Skywalker has been both a Jedi hero and the
agent of the Order’s destruction. With the
exception of Emperor Palpatine, no one casts a
longer shadow across the the Empire.
That outsized reputation is reframed through
new points of view in Star Wars: Vader–Dark
Visions, a 5-issue Marvel series by writer Dennis
Hopeless (Cloak and Dagger). In this far-ranging
collection of tales, those who have met Vader
(and survived the encounter) offer up their takes
on the black-armored Force-wielder, and not all
of them think he’s a bad guy!
Greg Smallwood’s cover on issue #1 provides
a visual introduction to the strange world of Dark
Visions. Looking like something from the Dark
Age of Camelot, Vader sits astride an alien mount,
holding a shield emblazoned with the symbol of
the Empire and holding his lightsaber aloft. Is it
possible that in the most desperate corners of the
galaxy, even a Sith Lord might be a savior?
Paolo Villanelli (Lando: Double or Nothing)
handles the art duties for issue #1, with Brian
Level (Thanos Legacy) taking over on issue #2.
Look for the first installment in stores on March 6.
