SKATING ON AIR
It is not known who thought of fixing roller skate wheels
to a board, but skateboarding first appeared in California
around the 1950s. Skaters use streets for their sport,
showing off stunts, such as an “ollie” or a “kickflip,” or
go to specially designed skate parks. In the 2020 Olympic
Games in Tokyo, Japan, skateboarding will be included
as an event for the first time.
