But when do we use d, and when do we use r ? Use d when the preceding
word ends with a consonant and use r when the preceding word ends with a
vowel.

It is also helpful to know that d and r (as explained in Appendix 3) used to
have only one symbol in the ancient Tagalog script. This indicates that
sometimes these would be used interchangeably, and then when reading the
script, the Tagalog people just knew by instinct which letter the word referred to.
EXAMPLE: Nakasuot ako ng baro’t saya dahil Philippine Independence Day
ngayon.

I am wearing a baro’t saya because it is Philippine Independence.

III. Gawa/Yari sa/ng
The words gawa and yari have the same meaning: “made.” With the preposition
sa, it can mean either “made of” or “made in.” With the preposition ng, you can
refer to the maker of the product. With this use, it is more common to use gawa
rather than yari.
EXAMPLES : Yari sa salamin ang mesa.

The table is made of glass.
Yari sa Piipinas ang mga mesa.

The tables are made in the Philippines.
Gawa ng Philippine Computer company ang computer ko.

My computer is made by the Philippine Computer company.
