PEDRO : Ano ang binili mo para kay Clara?

What did you buy for Clara?
JUAN : Binilhan ko siya ng blusa.

I bought her a blouse.
PEDRO : Niiligawan mo ba si Clara?
Are you courting Clara?

JUAN : Gusto ko sanang ligawan si Clara.
I would like to court Clara. (Literally, Want I hope court marker Clara.)

PEDRO : Sayang. Sana, binigyan mo siya ng pulseras.
A pity. You could have given her a bracelet. (Literally, Hope gave you her
marker bracelet).

JUAN : Bakit?
Why?

PEDRO : Para sabihing, “Mahal kita.”
To say, “I love you.” (Literally, Love I you.)
JUAN : Kung singsing kaya?

How about a ring? (Literally, What if ring?)
PEDRO : “Nangangako akong pakakasalan kita.”

“I promise to marry you.” (Literally, Promise I marry I you.)
