10. ROTOR live
14. and 15. march 2020
Europe's largest trade fair on the subject of model helicopters once again invites you to
two incomparable adventure days on 14 and 15 March 2020! For all interested parties and
fans of model helicopters, there will be a great opportunity to immerse themselves in the
fascinating world of these high-tech bolides and be inspired by the diversity of this "supre-
me discipline" of model flying. ROTOR live is much more than just a trade fair, as it is also
the kick-off for the new flying season and serves as a lively exchange of information for be-
ginners and experts. Whether at the exhibitor stands or at one of the lectures and workshops: here everyone will find answers and sup-
port around this fascinating hobby.
Around 3,000 square metres of action area, spread over several levels, invite you to discover and browse. From the small 3D indoor
tiny with a take-off weight of only a few grams to the impressive 50 kg scale model, which is modeled after the original down to the smal-
lest detail: ROTOR live presents the whole range of this unique hobby. But also equipment and accessories for the model workshop
are not neglected, because no matter if engine, controller or stabilisation system - with this exhibitor variety every pilot will find the right
accessories for the new season. In addition, the flight simulator stations invite you to try out new flight figures or to steer a helicopter for
the first time.
Another popular attraction for the public since the beginning of the fair is the all-day flight programme, where well over 100 pilots from
Germany and abroad show their skills. Whether top novelty or superscale model - our experienced pilots know how to control their he-
licopters and present them accordingly impressively. A fixed component of the flight programme is once again the 3D contest, in which
top international pilots compete with each other. The pilots are highly motivated to take part in this competition and provide many a he-
art-stopping finale.
Equally important are our free workshops and lectures, which are met with great interest by the visitors. The topics are again very di-
verse in 2020 and appeal to both beginners and advanced pilots.
Further information about the fair, directions and an overview of all exhibitors can be found on our homepage www.rotor-live.de. You
are on Facebook? Then visit us at www.facebook.com/ROTORlive; there you will be provided with the latest news about the fair.
We are looking forward to your visit at Europe's largest trade fair for model helicopters!
EMFU-Workshop
Exchange of information
A workshop on the new European regulation for unmanned aerial vehicles took place in Friedrichshafen on 2 November 2019.
The central topic was planning the implementation of the new EU regulations. This is particularly important for the operation of fo-
reign pilots as tourists or in competitions with regard to insurance, future mandatory registration and mutual recognition of proof of
competence. In almost all countries, the aim is to obtain an operating licence in accordance with § 16 of the "UAV Ordinance". The
greatest progress is likely to be made in Norway, which has a virtually complete set of regulations that are recognised as the basis
for an operating licence by the competent authority. In Switzerland there is an agreement with the authority that the current practi-
ce will be continued. In Germany there is a set of rules and regulations as a basis for a type approval, which still needs to be dis-
cussed with the BMVI. In Austria there is also a set of rules. Finland is planning a special path, which aims at the designation of mo-
del flying areas without a special operating permit. The subject of U Space was also discussed In the course of this discussion, the
representative of the SMV (Swiss Model Flight Association) proposed that model flight should not be excluded from the scope of U
Space, although this is provided for in the current draft regulation. It was further agreed that there should be follow-up meetings,
which will then be held as online meetings.
