its glass cockpit interface unit (CIU) can be used for editing of
navigation points, includes GPS with digital moving map and an
RDR-1700A integrated Search, Surveillance and Weather radar

The nose mounted Electro-Optical Observation pod has the
capacity to show the crew Clear Camera Daylight (CCD) footage,
includes forward looking infrared (FLIR) detectors and a Direction
Finder System. For emergency situations above water, IAR Brașov
has equipped the helicopters with the well-known, orange-colored
Crash Position Indicator (CPI), clearly visible on the left side of the
tailboom. Flotation gear has also been attached under the nose and
