worldwide collaboration
A between Lucasfi lm, eBay,
and the British Journal of
Photography has resulted
in a magical online exhibition that
explores the lives of Star Wars-loving
families from around the world.
Launched to commemorate the
release of Star Wars: The Rise of
Skywalker in December 2019, Star Wars
Families was an ambitious undertaking
that involved 10 internationally
renowned photographers visually
documenting their subject’s daily lives
around the theme of a family portrait.
The project was envisaged as a slice
of family life across the globe as they
looked ahead to the release of the fi nal
chapter in the Skywalker saga, refl ecting
on the impact the movies have had on
their lives while paying tribute to the
universal and intergenerational nature
of Star Wars fandom.
The resulting images and stories of
the family involved can be found at
starwarsfamilies.com.
