HISTORY IN PICTURES

                       OPERATION BABYLIFT
At the end of the Vietnam War, with Saigon under attack,
more than 3,000 children were evacuated from the country
and adopted by families around the world. This attracted
controversy, as questions were raised as to whether
it was in the children’s best interests, and not all of
them were orphans. Further controversy was
raised when one plane crashed, killing all 78
                              children on board.
