AUTOMATED MODES

The range of automated modes varies between cameras, and professional-
specification DSLRs and CSCs generally don’t feature them at all. The most common
automated mode is Fully Automatic (Auto), in which all the shooting functions
except the drive mode (see p.89) are controlled by the camera. Scene modes for
specific situations, such as for portraits, offer more control, but functions such as
exposure control and White Balance are set by the camera and cannot be adjusted.
