It started in March, when ’Nova’s Jenkins refused to choke.
Fans in Leicester must’ve sacrificed to the soccer gods:
Their Foxes won the league despite 5,000-to-1 odds.
The Warriors thought they had the Finals well in the bag,
Before LeBron James’ unreal play proved to be quite the snag.
After a century, the Cubs finished on a high note,
Finally sticking it to that old accursed billy goat.
Durant joining Golden State proved predictably unfair,
Then Melo and Paul George joined the Thunder—a short-lived pair.
The NHL celebrated a century of puck,
As the Penguins proved last year’s Cup was not a stroke of luck.
Brady missed four regular-season games for Deflategate,
Then led a Super Bowl comeback, 34–28.
The Astros and Dodgers set records for World Series bombs,
But in the end the ’Stros, like their fan base, were Houston Strong.
